Oticon Zircon

The Zircon is the more affordable option from Oticon, but it’s still made using BrainHearing Technology. It’s available with a portable or desktop charger, and with replaceable or rechargeable batteries. Even though it’s priced lower than other hearing aids from Oticon, it provides the same level of hearing as higher-tier products, but only with fewer features. The Zircon is available in two levels – Level 1 which is the higher level, and Level 2, which is the lower one. Although the Zircon is considered an entry-level hearing aid, it offers features such as audio streaming, hands-free calling, OpenSound Navigator, Tinnitus SoundSupport, and many more. Types of Models

All current Oticon models can be classified as rechargeable or battery-powered. Each model in the Oticon product portfolio ends with the letter T or R. The R stands for rechargeable, while T stands for battery-powered hearing aids.

Additional Accessories

When it comes to chargers, you can find two options – a desktop charger, or a portable charger.

Other Oticon accessories include the ConnectClip that allows hands-free phone calls, or listening to music or audiobooks streamed from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop; the TV adapter that allows for people with hearing aids to watch their favorite movies or TV shows; and the Phone Adapter 2.0 that can be connected with your existing home landline.

Brand App

Oticon offers two separate apps that help users make small but important changes to their Oticon hearing aids. The apps are called Oticon Companion, and Oticon ON.

The Oticon Companion app allows the user to change volume, get battery information, make adjustments to specific accessories, boost speech or sound, and more.

The Oticon ON app includes similar functions, the difference being that it includes advanced Tinnitus options (Tinnitus equalizer), it doesn’t include a speech booster, but offers HearingFitness and AppleWatch connectivity.

Ease of Use

If you’ve never used a hearing aid, one of the hearing care professionals Oticon works with will give you detailed instructions on how to properly set up and use your new hearing aid. Once you’ve fitted it for the first time, you’ll have no issues using it again.

You don’t need a prescription for hearing aids, and there are apps from Oticon that help in adjusting your hearing aid easily.

Regarding customer support, Oticon offers support either via phone or email. Naturally, contacting Oticon by phone is the faster way of getting help and support, but considering the nature of the products this brand manufactures, email communication is far more common.

It’s a slower way of getting support, however, customers are genuinely satisfied with the support they’ve had from Oticon.
